Atrauman® Ag is a soft, silver-impregnated, non-adherent contact layer designed for chronic and acute wounds at risk of infection, including pressure injuries, diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, and dehisced surgical wounds. The gentle ointment mesh prevents adherence to new granulation tissue, reduces pain during dressing changes, and provides continuous antimicrobial protection. Atrauman® Ag must be used with a suitable secondary absorbent dressing.

Application / How to Use
- Cleanse the wound: Use an appropriate cleansing solution (e.g., Prontosan® or Granudacyn®), rinse gently, and dry surrounding skin.
- Cut to size: Trim Atrauman® Ag to fit the wound with slight overlap beyond wound edges.
- Apply to the wound: Lay the ointment mesh gently over the wound without stretching or pressure.
- Add a secondary dressing:
- High exudate: Zetuvit® Plus Silicone, HydroClean®, Aquacel® Foam.
- Low exudate: Mepilex® Border Flex or similar silicone foams.
- Fixation: Secure with tape, silicone fixation, or a bandage depending on location.
- Change frequency: Normally every 1–3 days depending on exudate and clinical status.
Tips for Best Use
- Atrauman® Ag is non-absorbent — always use with an appropriate absorbent secondary dressing.
- If the wound is very dry, consult a clinician to add a hydrogel to maintain moisture.
- Do not use on patients with known silver allergies.
- Seek medical advice if redness, odour, or pain worsens.
