Granudacyn® is a pH-neutral, hypotonic wound irrigation solution (HOCl/NaOCl) that rapidly reduces bioburden and mechanically lifts debris/biofilm while maintaining a moist environment. For acute, chronic and contaminated wounds, first-/second-degree burns, and use on sensitive tissues (cartilage, tendon, ligament, bone) and body cavities (ear, nose, mouth, peritoneum, fistulas).
Shelf life (unopened, Solution): 24 months • After opening: 60 days
Store at room temperature; may be warmed to body temperature before use.
Indications

Hard-to-heal: diabetic foot ulcers, pressure injuries, venous leg ulcers

Acute/contaminated: cuts, abrasions, lacerations, first–second degree burns, intra-/post-operative lavage

Sensitive/deep: cartilage, tendon, ligament, bone; cavities (ear/nose/mouth, peritoneum, fistulas)
HOCl/NaOCl combinations are recommended for decontaminating acute/chronic wounds and peritoneal lavage.
How to Use
- Use undiluted. Irrigate the wound and surrounding skin thoroughly with Granudacyn®.
- For added action, soak gauze/dressing with solution and apply as a moist soak for 10–15 minutes.
- Select secondary cover by exudate level: Mepilex® Border Flex (low–moderate), Zetuvit® Plus Silicone Border (high), or Hydrofilm® for light fixation.
- When used with NPWT, follow device guidance for instillation.

FAQs
Do I need to dilute it? No. Use Granudacyn® undiluted. After opening, use within 60 days (solution).
Is it irritating to eyes or skin? It is pH-neutral and non-cytotoxic. Suitable around the eyes, nose and mucosa. If irritation occurs, stop and seek clinical advice.
What clinical evidence supports HOCl? The JWC supplement summarises RCTs and case series showing reduced bioburden, malodour and infection, with improved healing indicators.
